Uva PC polls: 50% voter turnout
The voter turnout in Monaragala and Badulla Districts is reported to have exceeded 50 per cent, according to the Election Returning Offices.
The Uva PC polls is scheduled to finish in another 30 minutes time.
Meanwhile, People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) says that they have established a special complaint unit comprising lawyers experienced in the field to record any complaint regarding an incident on polling day or after.
This unit will promptly act to verify the incident and refer it to the relevant authorities for actions.
